Shepherd's
Way is located in northwest Oregon, just south of Portland in
the Willamette Valley. We have been involved with English Shepherds
for close to 20 years, raising litters on occasion. We do not
operate a "kennel" -- our dogs are part of our family,
accompanying us throughout the day and keeping watch over us
at night.
A look at the "staff" here... (note: the "kid"
profiles date from 2008 -- so need updating!!)
| Mary...
Shepherd's Way is a byproduct of my love for English Shepherds
and concern for their future. In addition to working with
my own dogs, I have served on the English Shepherd Club
Board of Directors for 8 years, including 4 years as President.
I am also certified as a herding trial judge by the American
Herding Breed Association (AHBA), and bred, owned, and
handled the first English Shepherds to earn advanced herding
titles. My educational background is in medicine (MD,
MPH) and nonprofit management, and I currently work as
the executive director of a nonprofit organization. |

Practicing ER doctor, aspiring musician, avid skier, and
chief financial backer for Shepherd's Way. |
 |
| Katy...
a junior at Stanford University and a confirmed genius
after managing to land a grant that is currently paying
her to spend a summer reading fairy tales and traveling
to France. We are in awe. While in Palo Alto, Katy spends
about half of each day at Webb Ranch, where she serves
as horse manager for the Stanford Polo Club. |
 |
| Sam...
recent High School graduate, heading down to Palo Alto
to join his sister at Stanford University in the fall.
Known for his "knuckle ball" (in soccer), and
his tenor voice (in various performing groups), Sam is
beloved by the dogs because he has the best throwing arm
in the family -- and he is willing to use it. Raven will
miss him greatly next year! |

| Tom...
sophomore in High School, black belt in TaeKwanDo, devoted
skateboarder, and an easygoing guy. |
 |
| Anna...
eighth grade student, black belt in TaeKwanDo, basketball
player, with a career ambition of replacing Samantha Brown
on the Travel Channel (getting paid to travel the world).
Given Katy's success, we aren't discounting the possibility. |
